Very large and sturdy - now that our grocery got rid of plastic and changed to flimsy paper bags that they charge for - these nylon bags do the trick. Usually we had 10 plastic grocery bags every week. We usually use 4 of these nylon bags now for a week's worth of groceries (2 people). I always seem to use my bags , take themInside, and NEVER bring them back to my car. I had to use these on a recent grocery haul.. and man oh man!!! They are sturdy, and soooo roomy!! Their really big but I wouldn't put to much in because like anything else I think at some point the handles may rip off. Maybe I'm wrong but I had this happen with a few different bags in the past. I think it's a real good price also.When I received these bags and actually felt them, I didn't have much hope for their weight capability. I can put 2 gallons in them and they hold them no problem! Saves me from making 3 trips to the car, down to 1 thanks to these bags! I was super surprised how much they can hold for weight! They will accommodate the large item intended for them, they can be carried in your hand or over the shoulders. They're large and sturdy enough to carry.I bought these as a commitment to reducing my plastic use. They are very large-probably hold the equivalent of 3 plastic grocery bags. I am leery to load one with canned goods/very heavy items. I am not sure the bag won't rip. I have used them twice and I notice in ALL of them the stitching is fraying on a top corner about an inch. I'm certain this is just a manufacturing issue, but now I am not too confident in my purchase.
